October 13 is World Fertilizer Day. On this day in 1908, Haber-Bosch's patent for the process of synthesizing ammonia from air was registered. Ammonia synthesis technology has had a significant impact on the development of agriculture worldwide. Billions of people have been saved from poverty and hunger thanks to this invention.
At the same time, it is obvious that the growth of food consumption is much faster than the growth of agricultural areas. Thus, the international organizations FAO and UN forecast that food consumption in the world will grow by 70% by 2050, while the area of agricultural land will grow only by 10%. Therefore, it is necessary to use land more efficiently. This is where mineral fertilizer producers come to the aid of agrarians. Mineral fertilizers can increase yields per hectare of land.
We congratulate all our colleagues on International Fertilizer Day and wish them prosperity, continued growth and well-being!
